National Institute of Technology, Raipur is one of the leading institutes in the field of technology and science. The foundation stone of NIT, Raipur was laid by the first President of independent India honorable Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
The faculty at NIT, Raipur is led by experienced teaching staff who are dedicated to provide quality education in diverse fields of technology and management. At present, the co-ed institute offers various undergraduate courses such as B.Tech in Bio-Medical Engineering; Bio Technology, Chemical Engineering; Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mining Engineering, and B.Arch.
Students willing to take admissions to NIT, Raipur have to qualify for the Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main) of the National Testing Agency (Main). Candidates must meet all the eligibility criteria including necessary marks in 10+2 examination from a recognized board. The government-run institute also offers various scholarship schemes under the National Scholarship Portal.
The institute holds a training and placement cell for providing students proper guidance and hands-on-experience. Keeping a good record of placing students in reputable companies is the major goal of the cell. From a number of workshops to seminars are arranged by them in order to make students capable of landing jobs in top notch companies with which the cell features a good relationship.
Besides receiving quality education and training, they also have access to a huge library comprising 1 lakh of printed books and journals. The institute also provides a digital library access for students. Course specific libraries are also amongst the academic amenities available at NIT, Raipur. Apart from this, students can avail multiple facilities such as separate hostel accommodations for boys and girls; well furnished classrooms; dispensary for medical purpose; indoor and outdoor sports facilities; and cafeterias including canteen, CCD and a juice corner.

Admission Procedure
The NIT Raipur employs a method called the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) to assist applicants with the admissions procedure (co-ed). Students will be admitted to any of the Institute's academic programmes through a single platform using the Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main) of the National Testing Agency (Main). Candidates must have earned the necessary marks in the 10+2 class as determined by the various Boards to be eligible for admission to the institute. To accept qualified candidates to the Institute, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) facilitates the process of joint seat allocation, also known as Common Counselling.
NIT Raipur also offers postgraduate and Doctoral degrees in M.Tech, MCA and PhD. A candidate seeking admission to a postgraduate degree must hold a B.E/ B.Tech degree and must be qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam. And for PhD course, the eligibility required a master's degree with at least 60% 0f marks.

The NIT, Raipur has a Training and Placement Cell whose goal is to provide suitable employment possibilities to all of the institute's students. The Placement department coordinates the campus placements for the students and maintains close ties with possible companies. Every year, the placement process involves about 100 top companies from a range of elite industries. The industry's consistently encouraging response demonstrates that the students are successfully living up to their expectations for the given professional tasks. And The Training Cell makes an effort to facilitate effective industry–institute interaction through various training programmes, workshops, expert lectures, and seminars, making students employable and industry ready.
