Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences, Gangtok (SMIMSG), established in 1997, is a constituent college of Sikkim Manipal University. SMIMS, Gangtok enjoys recognition from the National Medical Council (NMC). The campus is located in a picturesque valley surrounded by prolific hills. SMIMS, Gangtok offers undergraduate programmes in MBBS and B.Sc Medical Biotechnology. Postgraduate programmes offered at SMIMS, Gangtok include M.D in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Physiology, Pharmacology, Anaesthesiology, M.Sc in Medical Biotechnology, an M.S in Orthopaedics, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences, Gangtok (SMIMSG) interested candidates can apply from the university’s official website. A candidate must be of a minimum age of 17+ for applying. For admission to the MBBS courses, a candidate must secure a minimum of 50% marks on average and individually in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English in intermediate or 10+2 from a recognized board. Candidates belonging to the PwD category must secure a minimum of 45%marks on average and individually in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category must secure a minimum of 40% marks on average and individually in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English. In addition, a candidate must qualify for the NEET examination conducted by the NTA. Based on the results of the NEET examination the admission process will be undertaken.

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences, Gangtok (SMIMSG) is provided with high-skilled and competent faculty members. The faculty is constituted of doctors with years of experience. Under their constant guidance and support, the students are encouraged to undertake new challenges, and research-oriented programs for publishing, conferences, and seminars. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences, Gangtok (SMIMSG) has a Central Library well equipped with a wide collection of 18,920 books along with a collection of 126 reputed Indian and Foreign journals. The Digital Library has a huge collection of digital documents to provide effective support for users. The college provides boys and girls with a Separate hostel along with a proper mess facility that is run by the mess contractors and students. The classrooms are well-designed and have an ambiance best suited for a pleasant teaching-learning experience. The labs are up to date with advanced apparatus and equipment. Hygienic and delicious food is served at the well-maintained canteen at reasonable rates.

Admission Procedure

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences, Gangtok conductsw its admission process according to the guidelines by the Mediucal Commission of India. At SMIMS, Gangtok interested candidates can apply from the institute's official website. A candidate must be of a minimum age of 17+ for applying.
