Global Media Common Entrance Test (GMCET) 2024 is a national-level entrance test that enables students to gain admission to various undergraduate media programs and courses. These programs include BJMC (Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication), BA-JMC (Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication), BMS (Bachelor Management Studies), BMC (Bachelor of Mass Communication), and BMM (Bachelor of Mass Media) offered by different participating universities. The purpose of the Global Media Common Entrance Test is to evaluate students' communication skills, as well as their analytical and logical reasoning abilities. These skills are crucial for understanding different scenarios and predicting potential outcomes, thereby preparing students for successful careers in BA-JMC & BJMC, BMS (Bachelor of Media Studies), BMC (Bachelor of Mass Communication), BMM (Bachelor of Mass Media), B.Sc (Animation & Graphics), B.Sc (Media Technologies), B.Sc (Film & Television), and B.Sc (VFX Film Making) degree programs.

GMCET 2024 Application Procedure

 

To apply for GMCET 2024, candidates need to follow the admission process outlined below.

Step 1: Application Form Submission

Candidates must fill out the application form with accurate and valid information. Upon registration, an automated email containing the Username and Password will be sent to the candidates' registered email ID or phone number for future reference.

Note: The application form must be filled online with relevant and valid details, and no other mode of application is accepted.

Step 2: Payment of Application Fee

Candidates need to make the payment by clicking on the "Pay Now" option. The application fee of INR 1000/- is non-refundable and can be paid using Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. Only after the successful payment, the candidate's candidature will be confirmed.

Step 3: Form Submission

After completion, candidates will receive a summary of the application form on their GMCET profile page and registered email ID. It is important to download and save the application form summary for future reference.

Step 4: Admit Card Download

Candidates with complete registration can download the Admit Card for GMCET 2024 from the Registration Portal. The admit card will contain details such as candidate's name, GMCET registration ID, roll number, date of birth, category, photograph, signature, examination schedule, timing, and instructions.

Step 5: GMCET Exam

GMCET 2024 will be conducted online. Candidates should appear for the exam at the assigned time slot. It is advised to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the examination.

Step 6: Result Declaration

GMCET results will be available only on the official GMCET-2024 website. Candidates can check their results using their user login and password created during the registration process. Qualified candidates will not receive a hard copy of the GMCET Score Card either by post or email.

 

GMCET 2024 Eligibility

The GMCET eligibility criteria that candidates have to fulfil include:

  • The Candidates must have a minimum education qualification of Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent Education with a minimum aggregate of 50% for the General Category & 45% for SC/ST/OBC. OR

  • Candidates should be appearing for Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent Education

  • A candidate with a three or four-year diploma, from a recognized university approved by AICTE with a minimum of 50% marks can also apply

 

GMCET 2024 Syllabus

GMCET test was divided into four sections based on

1. English language and intelligence

2. General knowledge of news and current events

3. Media knowledge in the entertainment industry

4. Brand and brand communication basics

The inquiries were factual in nature. Some questions also had to do with the course the applicant was applying for. Candidates were urged to begin their preparation as early as possible.

 

GMCET 2024 Examination Pattern

One hour was allotted for the GMCET exam, which had 100 multiple-choice questions with just one right response. The exam, which included four sections and a total of 100 marks, tested the student's knowledge using only multiple-choice questions. With 25 questions in each segment, the GMCET evaluated the applicant's fundamental knowledge in these four subjects:

(A) General knowledge of society, politics, economy, history [25 Questions]

(B) Brands and Business related basic questions [25 Questions]

(C) Films, television, radio, entertainment-related questions [25 Questions]

(D) IQ questions, applied ones [25 Questions]

 

GMCET 2024 Declaration of Results

The results of GMCET will be exclusively accessible on the official GMAT 2024 websites. Candidates must use their login credentials (username and password created during registration) to view the results on the webpage. All candidates who participated in GMCET 2024 will have the option to download their scorecards from the official GMCT 2024 website.  

 

GMCET 2024 Outcomes

Students are authorised to apply for B.A, BJMC, BMS, and BMC programmes at participating colleges in 24 cities across India after passing the GMCET exams. Although they won't be assured admission based on their exam results, students who lack this certification won't be able to enrol in any Institute.
