The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) conducts the ISI Admission Test (ISIAT) for students who wish to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the institute. The available programs include B Stat (Hons), B. Math. (Hons), M Stat, M Math, MS (QE), MS (QMS), MS (LIS), M Tech (CS), M Tech (CrS), M Tech (QROR), and PG Diplomas at various campuses such as Kharagpur, Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi Tezpur, and Bangalore. Admission to these programs is solely based on the candidates' performance in the ISI admission tests and interviews, with consideration given to their previous academic records.
In 2023, the ISI admission test will be held at 66 centres across the country. The test is conducted offline, using a pen-and-paper format. The medium of language for the test is English, and the duration varies depending on whether the questions are multiple-choice (MCQ) or descriptive. MCQ questions carry 30 marks, while descriptive questions carry 70 marks. The final decisions regarding admissions are made by the institute, and any form of canvassing by candidates leads to disqualification. The institute announces the final rank-ordered merit lists and counseling results on its website at https://www.isical.ac.in/~admission.
