If you are a vegetarian, don’t go by the look of the dishes at this sizzler festival — what you think is pork ribs is actually a steak made with soya chunks and a lot of veggies!
Cafe 4/1 on Camac Street has come up with six new vegetarian sizzler plates infusing flavours of Chinese, Indian, Mexican and Jamaican cuisine. And the hot and crackling affair is just right for the monsoon months.

On till: August 31
Timings: Noon to 10.30pm

Jamaican Jerk Steak: A mix of veggies and soya chunks with sugar cane fingers make up this steak that resembles pork ribs. Served with Jamaican rice, corn on the cob, fries and grilled veggies, this is quite a hearty meal.
Sparkling Grenade: Totally worth taking a video is this dessert that comes with a live sparkler, a chocolate grenade, darsaan, and pumpkin pie along with ice cream and cherry coulis.
Pouty Pablano: Mexican chillies are stuffed with a potato-based filling and served with a creamy cheese sauce along with herbed rice, pepper sauce, sauteed veggies and potato wedges.
Oriental Wok: It’s a fiery plate bringing together tangy soba noodles, fried rice, Szechwan potatoes, crispy fried vegetables, along with a wonton cup that is filled with fried corn. Paired with a hot Szechwan sauce and a black bean sauce, you’ll love digging into this one.
