Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s upcoming romantic drama Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani garnered positive reviews from Bollywood actors following a special screening in Mumbai, with Vicky Kaushal calling it a “hardcore big-screen” movie and Abhishek Bachchan hailing it as a “complete family entertainer”.

The Karan Johar directorial, which marks his return as a director for a big-screen release after a seven-year-gap, also won over Katrina with its “grandeur” and “amazing performances”.

“Reminding us of the magic of cinema, grandeur, dialoguebaazi, emotions, spectacular song,” Katrina wrote about the film on her Instagram stories soon after the special screening. Alia reshared the story with a thank-you message for Katrina.

“So proud of my brother Karan Johar. He is back to doing what he does best,” Abhishek wrote on his Instagram stories, heaping praise on Team Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

“Loved every bit of it. Hardcore big screen family entertainer. Take your loved ones. Don’t miss it,” wrote Vicky on his Instagram stories, calling Karan “a true master”.

Sara Ali Khan focused on the acting of the stars, mentioning how Ranveer made Rocky “real” and Alia inspired her. She also gave a shout-out to Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Churni Ganguly for their “spectacular performance”.

Karisma Kapoor, Gauri Khan, Malaika Arora and Maheep Kapoor also attended the special screening and shared pictures from the event. Karisma posed for a picture with actors Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor ahead of the show. “My heartline and My bloodline 💖 Rocky and Ranbir,” she wrote alongside the picture on Instagram.

Gauri Khan posed with Malaika Arora, Maheep Kapoor, Kumod Raney, Karisma Kapoor, Seema Kiran Sajdey and Kajal Anand at the screening.

Malaika called the movie a “must watch”, while Maheep Kapoor called it “Outstanding”.

Karisma also posed for a picture with Karan and costume designer Manish Malhotra at the event.

Neetu Kapoor wished her daughter-in-law for delivering a “five star performance”, saying that Alia “shinessss” and “looks gorgeous” on screen.

Alia’s mother Soni Razdan described the movie as a “full fat entertainer” that would surprise the fans. Shanoo Sharma, who is one of the casting directors of Yash Raj Films, loved the phenomenal acting.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is set to hit theatres on July 28.
