Coka 2.0
Sony Music India has released Coka 2.0, the second song from Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday-starrer action film Liger. Sung by Sukhe and Lisa Mishra, the high-octane bhangra track is composed by Jaani, Lijo George and Dj Chetas. Jaani has also written the lyrics for the song.
The music video features a killer hook step as we see the Telugu superstar in a new Punjabi avatar. The 33-year-old actor plays a street fighter who goes on to represent India in an international MMA tournament.
Vijay and Ananya are seen dancing to the catchy tune of the popular Punjabi song’s reprised version. Vijay is seen in maroon traditional Punjabi attire as he effortlessly performs complex steps. Ananya also dazzles in an ethnic look as the two set the floor on fire.
Apart from the Telugu star, the pan-India film also stars Ananya Panday, Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Makarand Deshpande and features legendary boxer Mike Tyson in a cameo. Liger will hit theatres on August 25.
Rosaline
20th Century Studios unveiled first-look photos for its upcoming Romeo & Juliet adaptation, Rosaline, starring 2022 Emmy nominee Kaitlyn Dever of Dopesick.
The production company posted images from the period epic on Twitter and wrote, “Behold, the first look images from Rosaline, a twist on Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, told from the perspective of Romeo’s ex. Streaming October 14 on @Hulu.”
The film is directed by Karen Maine, who previously helmed Yes, God, Yes. Rosaline is billed as a romantic comedy told from the perspective of Juliet’s cousin Rosaline (Dever), who is Romeo’s former love interest. Heartbroken when Romeo (Kyle Allen) meets Juliet (Isabela Merced), she schemes to win back her love.
Rosaline will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, but the streaming service is yet to confirm the date.
Snabba Cash: Season 2
Netflix has released the official trailer for the second season of their Swedish crime drama series Snabba Cash, based on Jens Lapidus’s Stockholm Noir novel trilogy. The six-episode series is produced by SF Studios and directed by Jesper Ganslandt, Lisa Farzaneh, and Mans Mansson.
Snabba Cash centres on the lives of an ambitious businesswoman, a gang enforcer and a disturbed teen, as they are trying to make quick money with sinister and disastrous results. The one-minute-12-second long trailer promises us to resolve some of the plots from Season 1. The trailer also gives us a glimpse of the mayhem that is in store.
Snabba Cash: Season 2 will be streaming on Netflix from September 22.
Chad and JT Go Deep
Netflix has dropped the trailer of their upcoming show Chad and JT Go Deep. The series is based on two committed activists Chad Kroeger and JT Parr, infamous for their viral YouTube videos from local city council meetings.
The two-minute-26-second trailer gives us a glimpse of the lives of these two activists, who have built a massive social media following their viral video which landed them appearances on numerous talk shows including Ellen.
Actors Tom Allen and John Parr play Kroeger and JT Parr, respectively, in this show. The actors are always in character like Joaquin Phoenix in I’m Still Here and Sacha Baron Cohen in Borat.
Chad and JT Go Deep will arrive on Netflix on August 23.
