A brand new telefilm series begins on Alpha Bangla, this time with an exciting difference. The Galpo Katha, (taglined Pordaay Boi Pora), which sounds like a direct lunge at Aakaash Bangla?s Sahityer Shera Somoye slot, will feature telefilms based on published stories, with Shogun Marketing producing the series. Raana Bannerjei is the creative director who will direct some and fan out some to other individual directors.
Tomorrow, Galpo Katha kickstarts with a Samaresh Majumdar story, the satirical Aayna Bhenge Gele, which was successfully adapted into a play years back titled, Teen Number Chokh. The telefilm, Aayna Bhenge Gele, has been scripted by Pritam Mukhopadhyay.
When we landed up at a Royd Street house to watch Raana calling the shots and Badal Sarkar cranking the camera, their understanding of each other?s requirements seemed seamless; they hardly needed a simple gesture or a little verbal stab among themselves to set up the next scene.
Equally ?homely? were the artistes: the veteran Arun Banerjee, the veteran-like Arindam Sil, the matron-like Soma Chakraborty, the pumpkin-like Biswanath Base and, like, waddyasay, Oindrila Khan.
