Ranchi, Dec. 2: Decorating the house with designer curtains, imported rugs and sofas are no longer a distant dream for the denizens of the state capital.

Gone are the days when state lacked modern furniture and people had to rush to Delhi or Calcutta to buy sophisticated and decorative pieces ? thanks to the efforts of Avaran, one of the leading furnishing houses of Eastern India.

The furnishing house has given a wide range of options in home furnishing keeping in mind the requirements of middle and upper middle class people.

The customers are not only from Jharkhand alone. The items have already become a household name in West Bengal and Orissa, said its proprietor Murarilal Agarwal.

?We do not sale products, we sale concepts and we lay stress on quality,? he added.

The difference with other furnishing houses is that they have a direct contact with manufacturers. The furnishing house is divided into three sections ? the linen, gift and art gallery and furniture (space mall).

?We have extended the furnishing house to furniture section to give customers variety,? said Murari.

The ground floor mostly comprises of huge collection of bed sheets, cushion covers, sofa covers in various shapes and designs.

The first floor is an art gallery. It has imported paintings, crystal show pieces, crystal flower vase and artificial flowers.

The second floor deals with curtain accessories like drapery rods and Belgium rugs.

The last section has the items for furnishing house. It includes imported and designer furniture, space mega mall that has pure leather sofa of Rs 21,700 and the most expensive sofa is Rs 59,400. All the sofas are brought from Puna-based company.
