Imphal, Aug. 5: Manipur Police Sports Club beat Youth Welfare Club, Langthabal, 2-1 in the Pre-qualifier Women's League, 2016, played on artificial turf, Khuman Lampak.
Manipur Police Sports Club with four wins and a defeat in the league, started off with skipper O. Bembem Devi, who netted the opening goal in the 19th minute.
However, Youth Welfare Club, with one win and four defeats, was rewarded when S. Rina Roy fetched the equaliser in the 21st minute to tie the score 1-1during the first half.
Youth Welfare Club player S. Mira Devi scored an own goal in attempting to clear the ball in the 56th minute.
Manipur Police team have 15 points from six matches and Youth Welfare Club have three points from six matches.
In another match, Eastern Sporting Union thrashed Naharol Yaipha Thourang Club 10-1 to collect full points. Eastern Sporting Union have 15 points from five wins and a defeat while Naharol Yaipha Thourang are yet to register a win in the league.
For Eastern Sporting Union, I. Prameshowri scored six goals while W. Ranjibala fetched two goals and Th. Janda Devi and M. Mandakini Devi chipped in with a goal each.
The lone goal for Naharol Yaipha Thourang Club was scored by H. Ranjita Devi in the second half.
