Imphal, Nov. 10: Th. Dharmendra Singh of Accountant- General claimed the men’s singles title of the 31st State Open Ranking Table Tennis Championship that concluded at the indoor stadium, DM College campus today, defeating L. Bikram of Manipur Police Sports Club.
Thoubal’s H. Senerita Devi won triple titles, winning the sub-junior, junior and cadet girls’ events.
The sub-junior boys’ singles event saw Kenao K. claim the champion’s title while Kh. Basantakumar picked up the youth boys’ title, K. Rohit fetched the junior boys’ title and M. Bindiya Devi took the youth girls’ champion’s title.
Gymnastics
Henjunaha Youth Club claimed the overall title of the 36th Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior State-Level Gymnastic Championship, 2014 held at Khuman Lampak indoor stadium.
Priyanka Naorem of Henjunaha emerged the all-round champion in the under-12 girls’ category. H. Barun of Henjunaha team grabbed the all-round champion’s title of the under-14 boys’ category. In the senior men’s all round individual champion, Ch. Meiraba of UYC was in the top slot.
Women’s football team: The AIFF has selected nine women footballers to represent India in the 3rd SAFF Women's Football Championship to be held at Islamabad, Pakistan, from November 11-21. The players are O. Bembem Devi, who will lead as skipper, E. Panthoi, G. Radharani, Th. Umapati, Y. Premi, I. Prameshori, M. Mandakini and Ng. Bala Devi.
