The Indian embassy in Ukraine issued another round of fresh advisory on Tuesday for its citizens to leave the country as soon as possible by available means. It added that some Indians have already left Ukraine following its earlier advisory issued on October 19.

“In continuation of the advisory issued by the Embassy on 19th Oct, all Indian citizens in Ukraine are advised to immediately leave Ukraine by available means. Some Indian nationals have already left Ukraine pursuant to earlier advisory,” the Indian embassy in Ukraine capital said in a statement.

The embassy also shared some numbers where Indians can contact for help to cross the border.

The Indian Embassy in Ukraine on October 19 had issued a statement asking Indian nationals not to travel to Ukraine. The advisory was issued in view of the increasing hostilities being meted upon the East European country by Russia, according to media reports.

“In view of the deteriorating security situation & recent escalation of hostilities across Ukraine, Indian nationals are advised against travelling to Ukraine. Indian citizens, including students, in Ukraine, advised to leave Ukraine at earliest", the statement read.

This came as Russian President Vladimir Putin declared martial law Wednesday in the four regions of Ukraine that Moscow annexed and gave all regional governors in Russia emergency powers that open the door for sweeping new restrictions throughout the country.
